Why do workers choose to switch jobs? [Video]

If you want to reduce employee turnover or attract some new hires, then listen up.

ProOpinion launched a survey asking professionals what motivates them to leave one workplace for another.

No surprises here - 29 percent of respondents blamed the green stuff. Better compensation was the most popular reason to switch jobs.

Following close behind, 26 percent took different jobs for a better work-life balance.

Tied for third with 9 percent apiece, the next most popular reasons related to receiving better health benefits or moving to a better location.

Finally, 5 percent switched jobs for a better company culture, while 3 percent left for leadership positions.

Still, 19 percent of respondents named different reasons for their job switch.

That means there's more to it than money, balance, and benefits.
